Swamp Bats 2, Mainers 1


Second baseman Taylor Perez fielded a hoppy ground ball and threw to first baseman Aubrey McCarty to retire a sliding Sam Dexter to secure the Swamp Bats 2-1 victory over the Sanford Mainers at Goodall Field Friday night.
·         Reliever Ben Criscuolo survives two hit batsmen in the 9th inning to get the save.

·         Matt Clancy pitched three scoreless inning of middle relief, striking out 5.

·         Starter Alex Robinson went  5 innings , allowed 5 Hits and 1 run off a wild pitch and struck out 5.

·         The Swamp Bats scored their two runs when Bret Dennis reached first on an error. Jared Mederos (who singled and stole second) and Alex Liquori (who walked) crossed the plate.

·         Sanford’s winning streak is over at 8, Keene recovers after losing two.

·         The Swamp Bats visit North Adams Saturday night, 6:30 start.
