Swamp Bats 3, Mountaineers 2

Connor Fitzsimons scored on an 8^th inning Wild Pitch to push the Swamp Bats past the Vermont Mountaineers 3-2 Tuesday night at Alumni Field.

Pregame Batting Practice

·         Matt Clancy won in relief of Jack Roberts.  Clancy struck out 3 batters and has 23 K’s in 13 2/3 innings.

·         Starting pitcher Dominic Severino got his third no-decision. He gave up 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and three strikeouts.

·         Vermont added scored two runs in the top of the 7^th to tie the game.

·         Connor Fitzsimons reached first after being hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a fielder’s choice, advanced to 3^rd on a Ryan Summers groundout and scored the winning run on a wild pitch.

·         After starting the season 1-for-26, Connor Fitzsimons is 11-for-23 and been hit by a pitched ball six times.

·         Alex Liquori singled in two runs in the 4^th inning.

·         Bret Dennis and Zach Lauricella each hit their sixth Double of the season.
